The Northalsted Halloween Parade
The Northalsted Business Alliance, in conjunction with Triangle Neighbors Association (a branch of the Lake View Citizens' Council), presents the 14th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 31. The legendary annual parade is always guaranteed to be one of the city's most outrageous and imaginative Halloween celebrations.
Each year, hundreds of participants fill Halsted Street, lined by thousands of viewing spectators for this must-attend event, which draws a broad mix of area residents, including children, families and even pets.
The fun starts at 4:30 p.m., with trick-or-treating in Space Park on Roscoe Street just west of Halsted. Free registration for the costume contest for children, pets, adults and groups begins at 5:30 p.m. at Spin Nightclub (800 W. Belmont). The parade gets started at 6 p.m.
Winners of the costume contest for kids and pets are announced immediately after the parade, followed by adult and group contest winners. In all, our groovy ghouls vie for more than $5,000 in costume contest cash and prizes, including airline tickets for two!
Join us at the parade's finish, at the Fabulous Parking Lot (Brompton and Halsted streets) for awards, fun and live entertainment, beginning at about 8 p.m.
